Resilient Wisconsin Trauma & Resilience Campaign
Tackling nationwide stressors to prevent harm
Amid rising nationwide stressors and stretched mental health services, communities were struggling to cope and connect. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) teamed up with KW2 to develop and launch a new statewide initiative to tackle stress at its root to prevent harm before it occurs. To make it happen, we focused on those most at-risk – caregivers, first responders, and frontline workers — to equip them with the tools and support to both care for others and care for themselves.
Creating award-winning resilience resources seen by over 3.7 million Wisconsinites
The Resilient Wisconsin initiative launched with emotionally resonant storytelling, bold visuals, and statewide distribution of practical tools and training. Over 3.7 million Wisconsinites saw the campaign in market, leading to a staggering increase in web traffic by 52 times compared to the months preceding our rollout. Audiences were eager for resources, with a bounce rate over 10% lower than industry benchmarks and an average web page session duration of 1 minute and 18 seconds. The initiative earned DHS two prestigious Blue Pencil & Gold Screen award – and was so successful that we expanded our collateral to new audiences and messages.
“We are all better for having the critical reminders and tools which you have worked hard to create and share. Thank you for your excellent work, and for leading the way to a resilient Wisconsin."
Karen E. Timberlake, Former Secretary-designee, Wisconsin Department of Health Services
